Smetanovo nábřeží is a public space for everyone. From the National theatre passing by the Charles bridge all the way to Rudolfinum, we can consider this space for a significant cultural axis of Prague.

A unique cooperation
One place – an enormous potential. Cultural program, participation and debates of local stakeholders arranged by civic association Auto*Mat: local cultural institutions, cafés, civic associations, restaurants, bars, galeries, universiries and residents from the area. The Urban Development Authority of the City of Prague prepares a variety of interactive workshops, presentations and debates among experts, public and administration aimed at the collection of qualitative and quantitative data for the new strategic plan of Prague which is currently in preparation. The Municipality of Prague as the main organiser takes charge of the technical realisation of all the events. Diverse composition of the accompanying program together with the place itself are both guarantees that we don’t have to fear average experience.
Shared interest
Our aim is to test and analyse the possibilities of eventual permanent transformation of the Smetanovo nábřeží to a pedestrian zone with tramways and bikes. This all in relation to the calming of Malá Strana and removal of car transit to inner-city transit dedicated routes Strahovský tunel and magistrála. We want to launch stronger cooperation of local entreprises, institutions and municipality and together with you we want to search for the ways to improve the conditions for life, studies, work and leisure in the centre. We believe that it is through these mutual encounters and debates on selected issues related to urban development that we can together with the professionals from the Urban Development Authority contribute to the preparation of the new development of the city of Prague.
